Lately, I have been on quite the yogurt kick for breakfast. While I feel like I am cheating on my warm-comforting bowls of oatmeal, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Here's how I do it. I prefer building the layers of flavor instead of buying the pre-flavored or pre -fruited yogurt at the market. I take luscious Greek yogurt and combine it with honey and vanilla. I could stop right there because the flavor is so good. Instead, I layer it with my favorite berries, sliced almonds, and Grape-Nuts for a little crunch. Berry Delicious Yogurt Parfaits is simplicity at it's best, which is perfect because that's how I like my mornings.
Ingredients for Berry Delicious Yogurt Parfaits:
4 cups Greek yogurt
4 tablespoons honey
*2 teaspoons clear vanilla
4 tablespoons Grape-Nuts
4 teaspoons sliced raw almonds
1 1/4 cups raspberries
1 1/4 cups blackberries
1 cup blueberries
* If you don't have clear vanilla just use the regular one.
Time-Saving Tip: To serve this for breakfast mix up the yogurt and top with the berries, almonds and Grape-Nuts in the morning.
Let's see what we need.
We're ready to cook.
Combine the yogurt, honey, and vanilla.
I like to make this in glasses, but jars work, too. Start by adding a few tablespoons of yogurt and give the glass a little shake to even out the layer. Add some of the berries, more yogurt, Grape Nuts, and almonds. Top with more yogurt and berries.
They're ready! Berry Delicious Yogurt Parfaits are so easy to prepare and so yummy. I think they are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacks.
Enjoy!
