Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip

Updated: Jul 29, 2021

When my sons request chicken wings, these are the ones they have in mind. Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip is my version of the quintessential spicy morsels. As you know, I keep away from frying as much as I can, so these are baked in a hot oven to crispness and doused in the perfect premade sauce. I serve my healthy dip made with Greek yogurt and blue cheese alongside. I've made these countless times for parties and potlucks, and everyone has always declared them the best wings ever.

Ingredients for Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip

4 -5 pounds chicken wings, cleaned and dried

1 bottle Frank's RedHot Wings Buffalo Sauce

cooking spray

Blue Cheese Dip:

1 - 7-ounce container Greek yogurt

3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese

2 tablespoons buttermilk

1 tablespoon milk

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 teaspoons cider vinegar

2 drops Frank's RedHot Sauce

Kosher salt

coarse ground black pepper

You will also need two large baking pans.

Time-Saving tip: Whenever I make chicken wings, I use disposable pans because it makes clean up a breeze.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Combine the yogurt and blue cheese. Gently press the blue cheese with a spoon to break it down a bit. Add the remaining ingredients and then refrigerate the dip. It is best to make the dip a few hours in advance, so the flavor develops.

Generously coat the pans with cooking spray and transfer the wings to the pans. Spray the top of the chicken with oil and transfer to a preheated 500-degree oven. Turn the wings after 20-25 minutes and return to the oven. Roasting the chicken will take about 45 minutes, but as much as an hour depends on how crispy you like them.

Once cooked to your liking, transfer the wings to one pan and pour the Franks Buffalo Sauce all over them and toss. Depending on how many wings you have will determine the amount of sauce, but the general rule is the more sauce you add, the spicier the wings.

They're ready! Healthy Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip is delicious and healthy. Flavorful, healthy, and easy clean up makes this a perfect snack for watching the game or binge-watching shows. If you haven't tried roasting your wings, give these a try, and you'll know why my sons love them so much.

Enjoy!
