Sauteed Spinach with Garlic and Oil

Updated: Jan 1, 2019

Sauteed Spinach with Garlic and Oil is a favorite of mine. I love the combination of the spinach dressed in olive oil and garlic. For me this is a basic vegetable dish which goes about just about any entree imaginable. Not only is it delicious but it is also healthy. Popeye knew what he was doing.

Ingredients for Sauteed Spinach with Garlic and Oil:

4-6 servings

20 ounces of spinach, not baby spinach

5 garlic cloves, thickly sliced

3 tablespoons olive oil

Kosher salt

black pepper

Time-Saving Tip: Purchasing pre-washed bagged spinach saves a lot of prep time. If you purchase loose spinach it can be cleaned and thoroughly dried earlier in the day.

Let's see what we need.

Let's cook.

As you can see I have placed the bowl of spinach near my saute pan on the stove; this way it is in an arm's reach when the spinach is ready to go into the pan. Start off by sauteing the sliced garlic in the oil for about minute or until it just starts to turn golden. Once this happens start adding some of the spinach to the pan.

It's ready! It looks just how I like it. This recipe is so easy and delicious. Once you give it a try, I'm sure it will become a regular at your table.

Enjoy!
