Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! This is a day for all of us to enjoy. It's a day to be nice to ourselves and to those we love. For me, Valentine's Day has changed so much over the years. Thinking back when Brad and I celebrated our first one together. We were both living in New York City and headed out to dinner after work. We chose a restaurant on the upper west side and had some high expectations. Though as it turns out the dinner was a flop. I think this restaurant just couldn't keep up with the constant stream of dinner guests revolving through the doors. The food was so poorly cooked that we laughed. In fact, we're still laughing...many years later. We vowed to always have dinner at home on this special day. Many of these dinners were spent with our two little sons and all of us exchanging the ever-present chocolate filled red hearts. After our night of fun, Brad and I would go out, just the two of us, and celebrate on a different night.

Now with Ethan and Steven at college, I am always sure to send them chocolate goodies in the mail. They know I would never miss a holiday. This year I got an early Valentine's Day surprise...

Best sons, ever!

So whether you're on your own, with that special someone, having a family dinner or hanging with your BFF be good to yourself.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Best,

Valerie
