Valentine's Day Chocolate Bark

Forget about buying those boxes of chocolate from the drug store this Valentine's Day. Everyone loves a homemade treat from the kitchen. Especially, when the treat is chocolate! This chocolate bark is so easy to make and it looks great. I topped mine with freeze-dried fruit but feel free to change the toppings. You'll be amazed at just how easy it is to make. Come on, I'll show you.

Ingredients for Valentine's Day Chocolate Bark:

1 bag of bittersweet chocolate chips

freeze dried strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries

Time-Saving Tip: Depending on your toppings this keeps well for days.

Let's see what we need.

Let's make the bark.

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set out your toppings.

Pour the bag of chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. After the minute they will look like the second picture. Give the chocolate a stir and return to the microwave for another 30 seconds. Give the mostly melted chips a stir and you will be good to go.

Pour the chocolate onto the parchment-lined cookie sheet. Spread the chocolate out...though not too thin.

Here's how I topped mine...ever so quietly...

Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator. Chill for a few hours until the bark has firmed up.

It's ready! I think this looks awesome. Have fun with it...feel free to use different toppings. This recipe is easily doubled. I think this is not only perfect for Valentine's Day, graduations, and generally all entertaining. Have fun making this special treat.

Enjoy!
