Banana Bread

What can I say? I love bananas, and I love Banana Bread even more. I was thrilled when I spotted some bananas that were a little too ripe for me to eat because it's the perfect excuse to whip up this seasonless treat. Here is yet one more recipe to add to the pile.

Ingredients for Banana Bread:

2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

8 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup mashed ripe bananas, about 3

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup honey

2 eggs

1 teaspoons vanilla

1/2 cup walnut pieces or chocolate chips

2 tablespoons raw sugar

Cooking spray

You will also need a glass loaf pan.

Time-Saving Tip: Bake, cool, and wrap bread in plastic wrap and serve the next day.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to bake.

Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside.

Combine eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add the butter and mashed bananas and mix well.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry. Combine and add the nuts.

Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray and then transfer the batter to the pan. Sprinkle with the raw sugar. Back the loaf in a preheated 350-degree oven until done about 45- 50 minutes.

It's ready! Banana Bread is delicious and always a favorite. I love it best once it has cooled and it's even better the next day.

Enjoy!
