Instant Pot Penne with Meat Sauce

It's Sunday, and that means a big bowl of pasta is on tonight's menu. While I love that flavor of a long-simmered sauce - sometimes I don't want to spend the time getting there. So Here's my version of Instant Pot Penne with Meat Sauce. Meat and aromatics are sauteed, then splashed with wine. I then added sauce and uncooked pasta. And before I knew it, I had perfectly cooked penne coated with the most delicious meaty sauce. This was delicious. I can't wait to make it again. Mangia!

Ingredients for Instant Pot Penne with Meat Sauce:

16 ounce dried penne

2 pounds ground beef

1 cup diced onion

5 cloves garlic, minced

40 ounces tomato sauce

4 cups chicken stock

1/2 cup red wine

3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1/2 cup basil leaves, torn or sliced

parmesan cheese for serving

Time-Saving Tip: Prepare the sauce adding the pasta, and let sit, off heat, up to an hour before cooking.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Preheat the Instant Pot to Saute. Add the oil and meat; cook until no longer pink. Add the onion, garlic, peppers, salt, and paprika. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

Add the wine and simmer while stirring until nearly evaporated.

Pour in the broth and sauce and combine well.

Stir in the pasta. Cover and cook on high for 6 minutes and do a quick release.

Gently stir the mixture and fold in the basil.

It's ready! Instant Pot Penne with Meat Sauce is so delicious! It tastes like it was simmering on the stove all day. If you love pasta and have an Instant Pot, this is a must-try!

Enjoy!
