Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Oatmeal is my breakfast of choice, and I can eat it every morning. The only thing is some mornings I don't feel like standing over the stove and stirring. It's days like this when I put my slow cooker to work. I add oats and water and cook for a few hours. Once ready, I pour in milk, maple syrup, a little butter, raisins, and then give it a good stir. I like to serve it with a bit more butter, a few chopped pecans, a drizzle of syrup, and a healthy sprinkle of cinnamon. Slow Cooker Oatmeal is simple, delicious, and a perfect way to start the day. The best part is the leftovers taste great the next morning, too.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Oatmeal:

2 cups Quick Cooking Steel Cut Oats

4 cups of water

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1/2 cup raisins

1/2 cup maple syrup + more for serving

2 pats of butter + more for serving

cinnamon for serving

chopped pecans for serving, optional

Time-Saving Tip: Measure out the ingredients the night before and have them ready for you in the morning.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Add the oatmeal, water, and salt to the slow cooker — cook on high for 45 minutes or low for 1 1/2 hours.

When the oatmeal is ready, stir in the syrup, butter, raisins, and milk. Serve with extra butter, syrup, pecans, and cinnamon.

It's ready! Slow Cooker Oatmeal is my favorite to start the day. With my slow cooker doing all of the work, I'm able to relax sipping my coffee. I store leftovers in individual containers so I can grab one the next morning.

Enjoy!
