Zesty Baked Steak Fries

Sometimes you just want some fries to go with your dinner...steak fries that is. These are so good that it is easy to forget about the rest of the meal. Russet potatoes are cut just right, seasoned with a special spice blend, and then roasted to perfection. That's it...it's that easy.

Ingredients for Zesty Baked Steak Fries:

serves 4

2 pounds russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and dried

3 tablespoons olive oil

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

You will also need a sheet pan. A few people have asked about which pans I use. Click HERE for more information.

Time-Saving Tip: The spices can be mixed earlier in the day.

Let's see what we need.

Now we are ready to cook.

Preheat the oven to 450-degrees. Cut each potato in half lengthwise. Depending on the potato cut each half in 6-8 slices. The slices should be about 1/4" thick. Place the potatoes in a large baggie or bowl, add the oil and toss.

Mix all of the spices together and add to the potatoes. Thoroughly coat the potatoes.

Pour the potatoes onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Spread the potatoes out so they are in a single layer. Place in the oven.

Bake for about 30 minutes and then flip the fries over. Bake another 25 minutes or slightly longer until desired crispness.

They're ready! These fries are delicious! The fries go great with roasts or grilled food. They are easy enough for any night of the week and special enough to serve to company. They are easily devoured so you might want to make some extra.

Enjoy!
