Not all turkey sandwiches are created equally. This delicious California Turkey Sandwich is enveloped in a ciabatta roll, with pesto mayonnaise, muenster cheese and avocado. It can't be beat. Perfect to bring it on your next picnic.
Ingredients for California Turkey Sandwich:
1/4 pound good sliced turkey
2-4 slices of muenster cheese
1 cup light mayonnaise
3 tablespoons of pesto sauce
1/2 an avocado
mesclun lettuce
Kosher salt
coarse ground pepper
ciabatta roll
Time Saving Tip: You can make your own pesto sauce but it will save a lot of time to purchase pesto sauce instead of making your own. Also, feel free to make the pesto mayonnaise as much as a day in advance. This way it is ready when you are to prepare the sandwich.
This recipe is the guideline for one sandwich. You can multiply it to make as many sandwiches as you need. I often prepare this sandwich on whole baguettes and cut it up to serve to a few people.
Let's gather up what we need.
We are ready to make the sandwich.
Mix the pesto sauce and the mayonnaise together. Set aside.
Cut the avocado in half. Using a large spoon scoop half of the avocado out of the shell and then slice.
Cut the roll in half. Spread both halves with some pesto mayonnaise.
Then o the bottom piece of the roll add as much turkey as you would like, muenster cheese, avocado, mesclun and and the top of the roll.
Allyou have to do is cut the sandwich in hald and take a bite! The comination of tuckey, cheese, pesto mayonnaise, avocado and some mesclun can't be beat.
Enjoy!
