Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

Sometimes you just need a cup of steaming hot chocolate. When I was little I remember my mom standing over the stove stirring a pot of hot cocoa. I'm sure it was a perk of a school snow day. Here's my version with a hint of cinnamon. It's delicious and the spice really warms the chocolate. Give it a try and I bet you will love it.

Ingredients for Cinnamon Hot Chocolate:

serves 2

2 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

2 cups whole milk

3 tablespoons water

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

dash of salt

serve with marshmallows

Time-Saving Tip: Measure out all of the ingredients in advance so it's ready to go.

Let's see what we need.

Time to make the hot chocolate.

Add the cocoa, sugar, cinnamon, and dash of salt to a small saucepan. Add the water and whisk together. Bring to a boil. After 1-2 minutes pour in the milk and whisk. do not boil; simmer while whisking until hot.

It's ready! This is so good and easy to prepare. The touch of cinnamon adds the perfect amount of spice. Once you take a sip of this homemade hot chocolate you will never use the packets and water again!

Enjoy!
