So not only are we home, but so are our kids. I've been reading on Facebook that some parents are starting to panic on how to keep everyone busy. I mean, with all extracurricular activities placed on the back burner or so to speak, there are plenty of hours to go around. Today I'm launching my Kids in The Kitchen series. I say get your kids in the kitchen no matter what their age. Here's an easy, no-cook meal that they can prepare with little supervision or even on their own. All you need are flour tortillas, peanut butter, and toppings like jam, fruit, granola, chocolate chips, or also dried coconut. Have your little chef spread peanut butter on one side of the tortilla and then sprinkle with toppings of choice. These allow your kids to be creative with the filling, and they'll always have a feeling of accomplishment. I had my son give these a run through, granted he's 22, but it was smooth sailing. In the next few weeks, I'll be adding to this series, so be sure to be on the lookout.
Ingredients for Peanut Butter and Stuff Quesadillas:
flour tortillas
*peanut butter
granola
fruit
mini chocolate chips
dried unsweetened coconut
jam
* Feel free to use Almond Butter, Cashew Butter, or any other one of your choice.
Time-Saving Tips: Consult with all of your junior chefs and see what kind of topping they want and help them set them out before getting started.
Let's see what we need.
We're ready to cook.
Help your junior chefs gather everything up before they get started creating their quesadillas.
Your chefs can get started by spreading peanut butter over one side of the tortilla. Then just add the toppings of their choice. I love the ones made with strawberry jam, the ones with coconut and chocolate chips remind me of an almond joy, and my son loved the ones filled with granola and bananas.
They're ready! Peanut Butter and Stuff Quesadillas are such fun for everyone to create and they're so yummy too. Your kids will feel like superstars if they can take charge over a meal and share with the rest of the family. I would love to see pictures of all of the quesadillas everyone makes. Please share them with me and with your permission I will share with everyone.
Enjoy!
