I'm celebrating National Bourbon Heritage Month in style, thanks to my friends over @clevelandwhiskey. They shared some of their delicious Wheat Penny Bourbon with me. I love the taste of salted caramel with notes of clove and cinnamon with a bit of smokiness, and their bourbon has natural flavors without sugar and no artificial color. I love it on its own, but this bourbon also makes the best Old Fashioned, which also happens to be my favorite cocktail.
Ingredients for Cranberry Walk Old-Fashioned:
1 brown sugar cube
1 tablespoon water
2-3 dashes Angostura orange bitters
2 ounces Wheat Penny Bourbon
orange twist
maraschino cherry
Let's see what we need.
We're ready to make our drink.
This is such an easy drink to prepare. Add sugar cube in a short glass along with the tablespoon of water. Muddle unto the cube is mostly dissolved. Add ice, pour the bourbon on top. Give the mixture astir and garnish with n orange peel and maraschino cherry.
It's ready! My Cranberry Walk Old-Fashioned is the perfect way to celebrate September and @clevelandwhiskey Their Wheat Penny Bourbon has become my burn of choice.
Enjoy!
