Easy Baked Apples

Updated: Jan 9, 2022

I was in the mood for something sweet and delicious today, so I decided to make some baked apples. This version is so easy and comes together in minutes. I simply halve the apples and place them in a hot cast iron pan coated with butter, cinnamon, and some nutmeg. I transfer the pan to the oven, and all it takes is about 12 minutes for the fruit to become tender and the pan juices to thicken. I love eating them warm right out of the pan. But they are also fabulous, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Ingredients for Easy Baked Apples:

4 Granny Smith Apples

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup vanilla sugar or regular granulated sugar

1/2 lemon

4 cinnamon sticks

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

You will also need a cast iron pan.

Time-Saving Tip: Have all of your ingredients ready to go since this dish comes together so quickly.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Have the apples and rub the cut side with the lemon.

Add the butter to the pan and melt over medium heat.

Stir in the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks.

Add the apples, cut side down, to the pan and transfer them to a preheated 350-degree oven.

Bake for 12-15 minutes depending on the size of the apples and the desired tenderness.

Here's how I do it!

They're ready! Easy Baked Apples are so delicious and make your house smell amazing. These are so good that I would eat these for breakfast, a snack, or dessert. Once you try this version of this classic you will be preparing it all of the time.

Enjoy!
