Easy Five Spice Chicken

It's no surprise that chicken is on the menu in our house each week. I rely on it when I need a meal that will taste great, that is good for us and will come together quickly. Easy Five Spice Chicken fits the bill. I toss chicken thighs with Chinese Five Spice; a seasoning made up of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, fennel, pepper, and a few other spices. I then drizzle them with sesame oil and soy sauce and roasted at high heat. The result was incredibly crispy chicken full of flavor.


Ingredients for Easy Five Spice Chicken :


8 chicken thighs, about 4 pounds

2 tablespoons Five Spice Seasoning

3 tablespoons grapeseeed oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Time-Saving Tip: Using disposable pans is a big time saver when it comes to clean up. The seasoning mixture can be prepared in advance.

We're ready to cook.


First, preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Combine the five spice seasoning, soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice and grapeseed oil in a small bowl.


In a large baggie add the chicken and pour in the mixture. Close the bag and move the chicken around coating them thoroughly with the spice mix. Transfer the chicken to a disposable pan. Place in the oven and roast for about 45 minutes or until desired crispness.



It's ready! This chicken is so delicious and easy to prepare. Serve with rice and steamed broccoli and you have a great meal.
