Instant Pot Applesauce

My family loves homemade applesauce. It's perfect for breakfast, snacking, stirring into yogurt, topping ice cream, serving with latkes, and of course, pork chops. It's so easy to prepare, and with the help of the Instant Pot, it comes together so quickly. I use a sweet and tart apples mixture, a little water, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cinnamon sticks. Healthy and delicious, it is irresistible. The debate in my house is when it tastes best warm or cold. All I know is that anyway I can get it, it sounds perfect to me.

Ingredients for Instant Pot Applesauce:

5-6 pounds apples, peeled, seeded, and quartered

1/2 cup water

pinch of salt

juice of 1/2 lemon

2 cinnamon sticks

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Time-Saving Tip: prepare the applesauce at the beginning of the week and enjoy.

Let's see what we need.

This is my Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 10-in-1 It's so easy to use and clean. Learn more about Things I Love in The Kitchen including this Instant Pot HERE.

And of course we also need....

We're ready to cook!

Peel, seed, and quarter the apples. If the apples are very large feel free to cut each one into 6 pieces. Toss the apples with the lemon juice.

Add the water into the Instant Pot. Then add the apples, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks. Cook on High Pressure for 6 minutes and naturally release for 15 minutes or longer depending on how smooth you like the applesauce. I released mine in 15 minutes, and I could "mash" up the apples simply by stirring with a large spoon.

It's ready! Instant Pot Applesauce is the best because it's delicious, healthy, and so easy to prepare. It makes regular appearances at our house.

Enjoy!
