One of our favorite ways to eat fresh tuna is Poke style. This version dices the tuna up in smaller pieces for a perfect appetizer. The flavors of the tuna, green onions, limes, drizzled with sesame oil and light soy sauce offers up an incredibly light and refreshing rendition. It tastes great when served with rice crackers, though if your anything like my family, you might skip the crackers and grab a spoon.

Ingredients for Tuna Poke:

Poke:

1 1/2 pounds tuna, cut into 1/4" pieces

1/2 cup minced scallions

2 jalapenos, minced

3 limes, zested

Dressing:

1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon light soy sauce

3/4 teaspoon sesame oil

1/3 cup lime juice

1/3 cup olive oil

2 teaspoons prepared wasabi

1 teaspoon Sriracha

1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

Time-Saving Tips: All of the ingredients can be prepped in advance and store separately in the refrigerator. Mix everything right before serving.

Let's see what we need.

We're ready to cook.

Mix together all of the dressing ingredients and set aside.

I recommend having all of your ingredients prepped and waiting for you when you're prepared to make the Poke. Once everything is ready, gently fold the tuna, lime zest, scallions, and jalapenos together. Then pour the dressing on top and combine.

It's ready! It looks incredibly delicious and it is. This dish is meant to be served immediately after adding the dressing. I love this recipe for its freshness and purity, no fillers needed. If you love sushi and ceviche I'm sure you will love poke, too.

Enjoy!
