Sometimes all you want is a burger for dinner. These weeknight ones come together quickly and are delicious. They're slathered with a special sauce and then garnished with cheese, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. They can be sandwiched between a bun or lettuce or both it's your choice.
Ingredients for Weeknight Grilled Burgers:
yields 8 burgers
Burgers:
3 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Serve with: Special Sauce (recipe below), cheddar cheese, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, lettuce, and buns
Special Sauce:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons ketchup
3 teaspoons chopped onion
1 tablespoon chopped dill pickle
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Time-Saving Tip: The special sauce can be made in advance. The burgers can also be prepped in advance and refrigerated a few hours before grilling.
Let's see what we need.
Time to cook.
In a small bowl combine all of the Special Sauce ingredients and set aside. Looks pretty special.
Combine all of the burger ingredients and shape into eight equal-sized burgers.
Season the burgers with salt and pepper on both sides before grilling. Cook them over medium-high heat flipping until the desired doneness; this will take a few minutes per side. Once ready it's time to build your burger.
It's ready! This is how I like my burger; I use lettuce for the bun and start with lettuce, onions, patty, cheese, special sauce, tomato, pickles, and more lettuce. The Special Sauce is packed with flavor and so good that you'll be using it for all of your sandwiches and not just for burgers.
Enjoy!

Thanks, Kevin! The bbq sauce adds a little flavor and is quick. I love the idea of soy sauce...kind of the same idea. I have to remember to give your method try. As always, thanks for the inspiration my friend.:)
MMMMM! One of everybody's favs, V.- including mine! I'm gonna try your method of adding BBQ Sc. to the raw ground beef mix before cooking. I usually just do dry seasonings and a few drizzles of soy sauce. I'm intrigued!
